À suivre… Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal’s Choreography Workshop

Published on:

A little and multi purpose post: some news, several pictures, and a well-deserved promotion.

On Aug. 29, 30 and 31, the workshop À suivre will perform at the Place des Arts, a choreography workshop created by the dancers of the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal.

This workshop is an opportunity for the dancers to comprehend all the jobs of their company: administration, communication – advertising, marketing, direction and technical trades… still being their own choreographers and dancers!

I’ve been asked to come at the rehearsals as a photographer, and what I’ve seen is really fabulous. The energy they have is really impressive, and to talk about dance, the result of their work will be a must-see. Beyond their professionalism, they have here carte blanche: liberty to create their own program. So, each choreographer composes with his desires, origins and cultural influences.

You will see an explosive mix! At the end, 14 choreographies every evening, followed by a session of Q/A with the dancers (and those who will come on the first night -29-, there will be a reception after the show with the whole team).

A long-drawn-out job that will be on stage at the Cinquième Salle of the Place des Arts. Hurry up and go get your tickets at the reception of the Grands Ballets : 4816, rue Rivard, Laurier station. It’s FREE!!

Run at the Grands Ballets to get your tickets!
